PRONI visit

I had an interesting day at PRONI today. I spent my time researching mum’s Gibson and Coughran/Cochrane ancestors using the records for Loughgilly parish in County Armagh. This included the dreaded microfilm reader but also the computer to browse documents available to view for specific townlands and also to locate actual documents which I then viewed.

I was delighted to find and see for myself a contract between Millicent Sparrow and John and Sarah Gibson, contracting them a farm and land for 21 years at Ballymacrangin/Crankey. This was in 1818. John could sign his name and I took a photo of that.
