The 1921 census has FINALLY been released by ScotlandsPeople, with the year almost at an end. I’ve had a quick look at the Douglas household (technically the Adam household) at 930 Argyle St just to confirm everyone was there. Grandad was a traveller for a wholesale stationer.
This one is a surprise- Charles Douglas the blacksmith was living with his son in law John Nicoll and family, as I reckoned- but not where I thought at all. In fact, they were on a farm in Dull Parish!
William Bennett had not yet moved to the bungalow on the banks of the River Kelvin but was still at Richard Street.
I wish I could share these updates with my father Charlie and with his cousin Ishbel, but sadly that is not to be.
